Seeing this afternoon that Biden has decided to end his reelection bid. It was the right thing to do although I seriously had my doubts whether he would.
Was never a matter of pride, or his “legacy” as he made very clear. It was a matter of a lifelong politician deciding to… “quit“… which simply wasn’t in his vocabulary.
Classic case of hanging on a little bit too long. Shame on the senior members of his party and his own family for trying to cover up reality until it was simply too late.
Most of us have eyes and ears, we can see and hear.
Biden will address the nation later this week and will make the attempt to step aside as a national hero, one final chance to upstage his opponent who by dodging a bullet entered those ranks last weekend.
Today’s decision arrived via a humble letter which was probably very tough to pen. My thoughts drift back to the famous video of LBJ refusing to accept the nomination:
Very few wanted Biden/Trump, so those still straddling the fence will soon have a new choice…
The Alternative.
Patience prevails, and no this is not now instantly the Kamala show. Things still need to play out.
Good graphic below from AP on how the DNC likely decides:

Just when we thought the dog days of summer were sure to be boring!
Gonna be interesting.
Better keep access to some fresh air handy…
